SharePoint Designer 2010, which is a free application, is “The Preferred” tool to design powerful no-code solutions and applications in SharePoint 2010. In this video, you will get a broad overview of the capabilities of the tool, from site customizations such as modifying Site Metadata, managing Site Security, or creating Site Content, to building List or Site based Workflows and connecting to a variety of Data Sources. You will also learn about the new user experience components such as the Ribbon and Summary Pages in SharePoint Designer 2010.

This video was prepared during the beta period, and the comment was made that External Content Types requires the SPS 2010 Enterprise version. But now that SPS 2010 is out, it looks like External Content Types do not require Enterprise – it’s on the Foundation list on the edition comparison page on sharepoint.microsoft.com.
So want to confirm that your comment in the video is no longer the case – that you don’t have to have the Enterprise edition to use External Content Types

@June – It is correct. External Content Types can be created on SharePoint Foundation 2010 using SharePoint Designer 2010.
