The Chart web part is shipped with SharePoint Server 2010 – Enterprise. It can be used to visualize your data with a variety of types of charts (bar graphs, pie charts, etc). This video shows how you can use this web part to visualize data in an excel spreadsheet through Excel Services.

Very cool. We used to have to do all this in excel first and then expose the named object we’d created. Very neat that they’ve migrated these configuration options into the portal itself. Good how-to.

Excellent tutorial about this new chart feature in SharePoint 2010. I still remember it’s a pain to implement it in MOSS 2007 (I was using google chart and some silverlight). This makes my life much easier since I now can train power users so they can help themselves
